This podcast is probably the most significant tool I have found during my investment journey. As a listener since 2016 and since the ripe age of 20, Ben and Bryce have transformed my way of thinking about managing, spending and investing money.
This podcast without a doubt assisted me in developing a long term strategy and purchasing my first investment property in VIC in 2019 at the age of 22. According to CoreLogic, this property has already seen capital gains of approximately $100,000 within 2 years. This has put me in a position where I’m preparing for investment property #2 within the next 12 months.
I was reading through and old investment diary I made years ago, where I wrote down the following – and I think this was a quote from Bryce – “When the markets are booming, everyone wants to buy and there is more competition. When the markets are cooling, there is less competition with the same long term outcomes. Be opportunistic.” This concept played a crucial role when I bought my first investment property just before the Morrison/Shorten election in 2019 – I bought it cheap and without much competition. How glowingly relevant these words are in the market conditions right now.
